Black Swan State Theatre Company’s Summer of the Seventeenth Doll will be live broadcast in the South West this month.
The great Australian classic by acclaimed Australian playwright Ray Lawler is set in working class Melbourne in the 1950s, where two mates are on yet another layoff season, come back to live it up in the city with their girlfriends but things begin to change.
The cast includes Jacob Allan, Michael Cameron, Mackenzie Dunn, Vivienne Garrett, Amy Mathews, Kelton Pell and Alison van Reeken
Black Swan’s executive director Natalie Jenkins said the company was thrilled to be able to present Adam Mitchell directed performance to outside of metropolitan areas.
“The live broadcast provides a great social and cultural opportunity for rural, regional and remote communities demonstrating that high quality live theatre performances can be delivered to all West Australians, no matter where they live,” she said.
Summer of the Seventeenth Doll will be broadcast on Friday, May 18 at 7.30pm at Busselton’s The Weld Theatre, Margaret River Cultural Centre and Bunbury’s New Lyric Theatre.
