Losing a beloved family pet is a traumatic experience, but the owner’s of the region’s first and only pet crematorium hope to make the grieving process easier.
Rainbow Bay Pet Cremations was created by Tim and Sharyn Vanderbeek and is located in Carbanup.
The couple realised the anguish being faced by many pet owners who, until now, had to send their pets remains to Perth for cremation.
Ms Vanderbeek, a vet in Margaret River, said they offered a respectful way for people to keep their cherished friends once they passed.
“Our aim in opening our crematorium was to make the grief of losing a beloved pet more bearable by having them cremated quickly and locally and returning the ashes promptly,” she said.
