He is the oldest child in his family but in the UK Royal family marriage stakes he’s the most recent. All that changes for Prince William when his brother Prince Harry marries Meghan Markle in Windsor on May 19. It was back in April 2011 when Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, who is the second in line to the throne, married to Catherine Elizabeth Middleton at Westminster Abbey. The wedding was widely broadcast on television, internet, and radio, in more than 180 countries. The “new generation” – Prince William and his brother Harry – have been credited with helping revive interest in the Royal family. Without doubt their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, also paved the way for that change of public sentiment. So anticipated was William’s wedding there were more than 5000 applications to hold royal wedding street parties across England and Wales. About 850 in London, one of which was hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron in Downing Street for charity workers and local children.
