Busselton Libraries invite the community to join them tomorrow, May 23, for the 18th National Simultaneous Storytime event.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual campaign coordinated by the Australian Library and Information Association that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.
Each year, a picture book is selected for a simultaneous reading event in libraries, schools, pre-schools, family homes, childcare centres, bookshops, children’s hospitals and communities across Australia.
Last year The Cow Tripped over the Moon, was read by author Tony Wilson and streamed live, as more than 680,000 readers in 6000 locations read along.
This year, Wilson will read the sequel, Hickory Dickory Dash.
“If the theme for last year’s book was perseverance and resilience, the message in this story is love, determination, courage and togetherness,” Wilson said.
The reading at Busselton Library and Dunsborough Library will begin at 10.30am.
