Capel Hockey
It was an absolutely beautiful sunny autumn morning on Saturday to witness a hard won hockey game.
Congratulations to the Margaret River boys 6-8 team for their spectacular win against Capel.
The final score was 5-0 with Capel fighting hard in defence with few opportunities to score, but Margaret River’s defense was somewhat stronger.
Both teams played with great sportsmanship.
The final win on the day went to a fantastic team effort by the Margaret River side.
Juniors Years 3-5
MacKillop defeated GMAS Teal with the final score 3-nil with McKillop taking the win.
It was a warm day for the players on Saturday, May 19 with both teams making lots of substitutions throughout the match.
Both teams had their share of the play and attempts at goal.
Madeleine Harvey was a standout scoring all three goals for MacKillop.
Best players for MacKillop were Madeleine Harvey, Darcy Riley, Olive Reynolds and Lincoln Scott.
Girls 6-8
The top two teams of the 6-8 girls competition met with anticipation from both sides to take the win.
Wests came out strong in the first half to score the first goal, Robins replied with a goal of their own five minutes before the half-time break.
The second half saw the Robins play with more passion but they could not match the big hitting strength of several Wests players.
The scored ended Robins 2 to Wests 4, with both sides looking forward to their next meet.
Boys 9-12
In the 9-12 boys competition West’s took on Cavaliers on Friday night.
West’s played a very defensive game, goals were hard to come by for both teams and they went to the half-time break with a nil-all score.
A goal from Archer Coates early in the second half was soon answered with Dakota Herring scoring for the Cavaliers.
The game appeared to be heading for a draw but a late goal from Harry Young gave West’s the win and ensured they would retain their position at the top of the table.
