Emergency services were kept busy on Thursday night and into Friday morning as the first of the winter storm fronts crossed the coast.
Cape Naturaliste recorded a wind gust of 113 kilometres per hour on Thursday afternoon while Busselton Jetty recorded a gust of 104km/h in the early hours of Friday morning.
Rosa Brook received a drenching of 66.6 millimetres of rain between 9am Thursday and 4am Friday.
Busselton SES president Wayne Credaro said his team attended 18 call outs during the night.
Mr Credaro said most of the incidents were mostly tree damage caused by strong winds and gusts.
He said the storm had created a couple of pathways through Busselton were the damage occurred.
"Make sure your yard is safe," he said.
The severe weather warning remained in effect on Friday night as SES crews – including personnel from Augusta Margaret River – headed to the worst hit homes in the Busselton area.
“Augusta Margaret River SES had only one call out for assistance last night,” the group said.
“Busselton SES got the worst of the weather - we have another team heading up shortly to help out.
“The wind and rain should reduce this morning, so get out and clean up as much as possible before this afternoon when a deep low pressure system is forecast to hit.
“Be prepared for more gusty wind and heavy rain from midday [Friday].”
