Residents in the region have been shopping up a storm online with Busselton buying 19.5 per cent more goods last year compared to 2016.
Australia Post general manager for parcels and express services Ben Franzi said residents were big buyers of fashion, with purchases rising 21.8 per cent.
“Women’s fashion is particularly popular. People also really love buying home wares and appliances, with purchases up 15.6 per cent,” he said.
“Busselton residents also enjoyed shopping from online variety stores such as Kogan, Catch and Target, with purchases rising 26.1 per cent.”
Mr Franzi said online shopping was also popular across the region, with Augusta, Margaret River, and Dunsborough recording 12.2, 13.2 and 16.7 per cent growth respectively.
“The main reason people shop online is for price, range and convenience,” he said.
“Online shopping gives people access to retailers all over Australia and beyond, and the choice to shop at a time that suits their needs.”
Mr Franzi said popular online shopping categories in Augusta were variety stores such as Kogan, Catch and Target which increased 26.1 per cent.
Augusta residents also loved to buy hobbies and recreational goods which increased 20.8 per cent as well as books which increased 10.1 per cent.
In Margaret River, residents bought 11.9 per cent more fashion in 2017 and purchased 24.2 per cent more goods from variety stores such as Kogan, Catch and Target.
In Dunsborough, residents bought 16 per cent more fashion items in 2017 along with 26.3 per cent more goods from variety stores.
There was also a 17.5 per cent jump in home wares and appliances.
