The Busselton Magpies 15’s travelled to South West Sports Centre in Bunbury to take on the Eaton Boomers on Saturday. The team this week consisted of Jenna Begley, Nikira Brock, Ruby Fullerton, Indianna Hinds, Arielle Hockey, Isabel Legros, Jessica Schweir, Ruby Simonetti, Nikki Smith, Kaitlyn Taylor and Kaitlyn Tucker. Magpies coach Rae Hathaway rotated the girls well again at each break. Despite multiple player changes in each quarter the Magpies players adapted effortlessly and maintained momentum throughout the game.
The Magpies got off to a great start and went into the first break with a lead of 14 goals to Eaton’s seven goals. By half-time the lead was further extended and the score was 37 to 12 goals in favour of the Magpies. At three-quarter time the score was Magpies 54 goals to 16 goals for Eaton. The Magpies finished strongly winning the game, and the final score was 75 to 22.
The Magpies maintained their usual fast pace style throughout the game and every player contributed. The defenders were rock solid and made Eaton work hard for every goal. The centre court players ran hard and fed efficiently to their shooters. The goal attack and goal shooter positions combined well and ensured the score board kept ticking over including long shots.
