Green thumbs and gardening beginners will descend on Nannup next month for the town’s annual Flower and Garden Festival.
The event was established in 1997 and continues to grow to be a highlight within WA’s gardening event calendar.
The theme for the 2018 festival is ‘Getting Creative in the Garden’ and garden celebrity Costa Georgiadis headlines the event.
The theme explores how to look after the environment and think outside the box when it comes to gardening.
Georgiadis will be joined by South West gardening experts for the four day event and other celebrities including Sabrina Hahn, Deryn Thorpe, Guy Jeffreys, Alysha Sladden, Mark Pipkin, Dr Bob Longmore and Steve Wood.
Hahn and Thorpe will host tours along the banks of the Blackwood River. Chefs’ Jeffreys, Sladden and Pipkin are back by popular demand whipping up meals with ingredients harvested straight from the garden. Dr Longmore, Thorpe and Wood will team up for a question and answer session in the main marquee.
The festival events will cover a broad range of topics such as how to keep bees in your backyard, upcycle in the garden, and save money by propagating plants.
Nannup Flower and Garden Festival will be held on Thursday, August 16 to Sunday, August 19.
Entry for the Town Hall events is $3 for seniors, $5 for general admission and children under 12 are free.
