The “Cardiac Panthers” need to improve if they want to challenge for the title according to In the Clear NRL Podcast co-hosts Chris Boulous and Matt Lawrence.
Hawkesbury Gazette journalist Krystyna Pollard joined the boys to talk all things Penrith ahead of round 21.
“They have the talent to win the title but they need to be consistent,” Pollard said.
“The talk around the coach Anthony Griffin and Nathan Cleary doesn’t help.”
Boulous questioned the Panthers title credentials with an injury-plagued James Maloney and out-of-position Tyrone Peachey being hamstrung by a forward pack that isn’t laying a platform.
“The return of Reagan Campbell-Gillard can’t come quick enough,” he said.
“At this stage I have them missing the four.”
Also on this week’s show, run their eye over round 21 with the Sharks and Broncos the most fancied to notch wins.
“Now is the time for the top teams to show they want to play finals,” Lawrence said.
