Making headlines, a Busselton shire councillor urged the local community to have their say on the proposed civic precinct so that it was not forced on them.
The future of an unwelcome traffic island right in front of resident’s of Westfield Court was is in the hands of the elected members. Residents were not opposed to the traffic island, just to its position. They could no longer turn right into their properties as it blocked their access.
The judges of the Tidy Town Competition were out and about in Busselton and Dunsborough, and the people of Wonnerup were not happy about the beach being used as the Port Geographe dumping ground.
In Sport, the ‘Seia Slam’ – Busselton Soccer Club’s famous family, separated at the end of the season with Busselton league side’s tag-team, Robbie and Michael, travelling to Europe.
In the South West Football League, it was a seven goal win to the Busselton Magpies as they disposed of the Collie Eagles in the last round of the home and away season.
