The third iHempWA Association networking and information event, iHemposiumWA 2018, will be held at Maker + Co in Bunbury from 11am on Saturday, September 15.
Industry leaders, farmers, advanced businesses and entrepreneurs will showcase a variety of products, information and services about industrial hemp.
Information workshops will commence at 1pm with more than 10 presentations sharing information about the growing of the crop, food and nutrition, building materials, paper as well as future opportunities for processing.
iHempWA chairperson Georgina Wilkinson said the committee has been committed to the promotion of industrial hemp to create regulatory change over the past few years.
“I have been in the hemp business for over 15 years, and with recent approval of hemp for food, the promotion of the industry holds new prospects for farmers, businesses and the community,” she said.
Industrial hemp has over 1000 different uses from textiles, building materials, cosmetics, paper, animal bedding, carbon fibre, plastics and food.
Maker + Co owner Craig Holland said it was a compatible partnership to host the iHempWA’s information and network event.
Bookings to the workshop are essential with limited tickets are available.
The event is free if you are a member of the Industrial Hemp WA Association Inc.
