Sydney Roosters forward Ryan Matterson will hop on the Wests Tigers bus next season after agreeing to join the NRL club on a three-year deal.
Currently one game away from a grand final with the Roosters this year, Matterson will become a critical piece in the Tigers' forward pack in 2019.
He has started in 16 of 19 games for the Roosters in 2018 primarily in the second row, however has shown his versatility with three matches as five-eighth.
"Ryan is a talented young man and we're very pleased to have him join the club next season," said Cleary.
"He has developed into a quality forward since his debut and we're looking forward to seeing him grow further at Wests Tigers over the next three years."
Matterson is the second Roosters player to sign with the Tigers, joining 22-year-old centre Paul Momirovski, who scored a try on debut this season.
Veteran hooker Robbie Farah has also extended his time at the club for another season.
