Margaret River’s Sunflowers Animal Farm is as busy as ever this spring thanks to the arrival of a huge crop of baby animals born in the last few weeks at the Burnside attraction.
Farmer Steve Jones said spring was a popular time of year on the farm thanks to the appeal of bottle feeding lambs, calves and goats and being up close and personal with some of Sunflowers’ cutest residents.
“Around this time there are quite a number of overseas and interstate tourists in the area and it’s a great time for them to be able to see kangaroos with their joeys, or the very cute baby goats,” he said.
The farm recently welcomed new addition Bonnie the Scottish Highland cow, who has quickly become a favourite attraction thanks to an impressive set of horns and her shaggy coat.
Farmer Jones said visitation to the farm had been positive over winter and as the days grew warmer he expected tourists to continue flocking to the South West.
“It’s a spectacular time of year to be living in a place like this.”
