Busselton pensioners who live in public housing have the chance to save $168 each year on their water bill.
The McGowan Government is urging up to 500 public housing tenants to check their eligibility for its new water rebate.
The new rebate is scheduled to come into effect next month, enables eligible tenants to claim a rebate of up to 50 per cent on the first 350 kilolitres of their water use - saving an estimated $168 per customer each year.
Eligibility for the new scheme requires registered tenants or lease holders to occupy the property as their ordinary place of residence and hold a Pensioner Concession Card, State Concession Card or a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.
Water minister Dave Kelly said he was proud to deliver the program for Busselton tenants who previously didn’t have access to the rebate.
Tenants must register for the rebate directly with Busselton Water. For more information, visit http://www.busseltonwater.wa.gov.au
