Community groups in Busselton are being sought to form a bucket brigade and help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities on McHappy Day.
The annual fundraiser is set for Saturday, November 17 to raise money for McDonald’s charities which support seriously ill children and their families.
McHappy Day is crucial in raising funds for the charity, which helps keep families together while their ill child undergoes treatment.
Since it first started in Australia in 1991, McHappy Day has raised more than $42 million for RMHC nationally, $4 million of which was raised in 2017.
RMHC chief executive officer Barbara Ryan said every week, more and more families went to Ronald McDonald House Charities in need of support and accommodation.
Ms Ryan said the Bucket Brigades were a simple and easy way for the Busselton community to help RMHC make a difference for families in their time of need.
Last year, McHappy Day helped in WA by providing almost 40,000 nights of accommodation for more than 1,000 families.
Donations fund programs including Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Ronald McDonald Learning Program, and the Ronald McDonald Family Retreats.
