Nine community groups have been awarded funding under Busselton Water’s Community Partnership Program.
The Community Partnership Program, now in its third year, will provide more than $10,000 to groups supporting disabilities, sports and education, sustainability and emergency services.
Busselton Water chief executive officer Chris Elliott said applications for this round of support were impressive in what was a highly competitive field of applicants.
“We received a record 23 applications this year of the highest standard from integral services and groups that really make a difference to our community,” he said.
The nine groups which Busselton Water will support over the next year include Busselton Toy Library, Busselton Aero Club – Young Flyer’s Club, Busselton Bowling Club, Busselton Croquet Club, Busselton Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Cornerstone Christian College, Disables Surfers Association South West, Southern Capes Motorcycle Club and Vasse Royals Football Club.
Busselton Toy Library president Brady Van Wyk said they were very appreciative of the support offered by Busselton Water, which helped purchase water-related play toys for the library.
“The new toys will be a terrific addition to our toy collection and well used by families across the region,” she said.
“Our aim is to provide children from birth to six with hands-on opportunities to explore water and the different ways water is a part of the world.”
