A shark advice has been issued following the report of a shark interaction with a surfer at Guillotines surf break, around 3 kilometres north of Cowaramup, on Thursday morning.
At approximately 9.00am on Thursday October 25, a male surfer was around 80 metres offshore when he was bumped off his board by the shark, described as a white shark between 2.5 to 3 metres in length.
The surfer reported the incident to Water Police at around 10.00am.
Further enquiries with the surfer revealed he has not received any injuries, he left the water shortly after the incident as did other surfers in the proximity.
Surfers at the break erected a makeshift sign to warn other surfers of the threat.
The advice warns beachgoers to take additional caution in the Guillotines area and to adhere to beach closures advised by Local Government Rangers or Surf Life Saving WA.
Members of the public are asked to report any shark sightings to the Water Police on 9442 8600.
