WA Police are expecting around 8000 young people to visit Rottnest, Busselton and Dunsborough during the official Leavers period.
This year, Leavers will run from Monday, November 19 to Thursday, November 22.
The annual event celebrates the end of secondary school for WA Year 12 students.
Designated Leavers Entertainment Zones, as well as transport, activities and support services will be set up in Dunsborough and Rottnest.
Additional police will be sent to Rottnest and South West before, during and after the official Leavers period.
The WA Police reinforced that it is illegal for people under 18 to purchase, be in possession of or drink alcohol in a public place, and it is illegal to purchase alcohol for someone who is under 18.
It is also illegal to be in possession of illicit drugs including cannabis, amphetamine and ecstasy.
Police Minister Michelle Roberts said police and hundreds of volunteers were working hard to maximise the safety and security of school leavers.
“This is a time to relax, celebrate with your friends and take a breather from the many years of hard work through your schooling,” she said.
“I want to encourage all school leavers to look after themselves, their friends and be respectful of one another.
“There are people who are there to help, whether they are police, the Red Frogs or the teams of other volunteers who are working hard to ensure you have a good time in a safe and positive environment.”
