ATCO Gas Australia’s presence in the South West has been further strengthened, with the opening of the company’s newest depot in Busselton.

ACTO is the state’s largest gas distribution network and recently undertook a GasSola trial in Vasse.

The GasSola project explored an energy mix that linked the benefits of stable, traditional energy supplies like natural gas with transformative renewable energy options and emerging technologies.

ATCO Gas Division president Stevan Green said natural gas was a proven, cost effective reliable energy source and that the people of the region wanted choice in their energy options.

“As demand increases and the population in the area continues to grow, so must our network,” he said.

“These new facilities will help us to maintain a timely service response for our customers.”

By crews operating from the new Busselton depot, travel will be reduced and there will be better storage to support network extension projects in the area.
