The solo exhibition of 2017 City of Busselton Art Award winner Michael Vincent Murphy is currently on display at ArtGeo Gallery.
Murphy has produced twenty new works for his Imagined Realities show.
He said the exhibition would entice viewers to look deeper at perceived reality and what it meant.
"This body of work continues my exploration of still life, surrealism and landscape, playing with the composition, lighting and placement of imagined objects within a space,” he said.
“No matter what subject I am painting, ideas ebb and flow, additions and subtractions are made – sometimes drastic ones. Then at some stage the look and feel of the work seems right and I consider it complete, even though it may be far from my first conception. Not knowing what the end result will be adds to the excitement of painting.”
Murphy won first prize in last year’s City of Busselton Art Award. His winning work Don’t Ask, Imagine has been on show in Busselton’s Community Resource Centre for the past year.
Imagined Realities will remain on show until Sunday 16 December.
