Busselton Triathlon Club will once again present a strong contingency in the Ironman event this weekend in both the full and 70.3 courses.
Two members are hoping they do not encounter a shark during their second Ironman event.
Last year club president Sarah Lang competed in this event for the first time and after a long six months of committed training she is hoping to experience all three legs of the course.
"This year again I've been training again really well and looking forward to a great day out,” she said.
“It is such a special experience to be able do something like this in a great place and local and family support encouraging you all the way."
Competing for the second time Vanessa Hall said she was feeling very excited but nervous to be participating in the Ironman in her home town.
“I feel proud to be involved in such a great event with a great club. I cant wait to hear the words - ‘You are an Ironman’ when I cross that finishing line," she said.
The club expects to have some really good outcomes from their member triathletes.
