Festival of Busselton are calling out to local soccer teams, family and friendship groups or soccer enthusiasts in general to join in on the fun of the inaugural ‘Rio Tinto Foosball Fun’ event.
The new event will see a life-size inflatable foosball game on display at the foreshore on January 13.
The five-a-side soccer game is a replica of the table game, which was invented in 1923 and mirrors a soccer field.
Festival of Busselton are running free and fun tournaments from 4pm to 8pm.
The ‘Human Foosball’ is a unique experience included in the month long calendar of festival events.
The arena resembles an inflatable soccer field, but in a twist, every player is strapped in a bungee line as they duel for foosball glory, bouncing of the soft inflatable walls.
All the members of each team are connected by elastic cords, meaning they can only move side to side.
Event Coordinator Di Bruce encouraged the community to get involved.
“We are super excited to be launching the Rio Tinto Foosball Fun” event during the Festival of Busselton 2019 as it is a good fit for every age group, as everyone gets to touch the ball regularly and there’s not too much running involved,” she said.
“The game is suitable for everybody regardless of age or ability or skill and promises to be a good laugh.”
