A mountain biking summer series is taking place around the Capes this summer through some of the South West’s most iconic trails.
The Cape Mountain Bikers and the Margaret River Off Road Cycling Association have joined forces to run the free series and are calling for keen mountain bikers to join them.
It is the second year the clubs have run the series which will include gravity endurance races which will see mountain bikers earn points on participating and place.
There is no minimum age requirements to join the clubs, mountain bikers just need to be able to ride a blue intermediate trail.
Capes Mountain Bikers president Andrew Spencer-Wright said the series was probably not suitable for someone who had just started mountain biking.
“In saying that we had some really young children take part last year, it is really inclusive. In Margaret River one of the courses was advanced but they also had an easy option,” he said.
There are six rounds in the series which start in Dunsborough on Thursday, December 20 and will run each week until Thursday, January 31.
Anyone who wishes to participate should register online before 5.45pm on race day, racing starts at 6pm which will be followed by a social event.
