Dymocks Busselton and The Fire Station have joined forces for a special event, Books in Bars.
Cowaramup author Lily Malone and the ever-popular Rachael Johns will discuss their latest novels, The Café by the Bridge and Lost Without You.
The Café by the Bridge is the latest book in Malone’s ‘Chalk Hill’ series.
It follows the release of Water Under The Bridge in February 2018.
The story is set in the fictional country town of Chalk Hill, which Malone says is: “about halfway between Manjimup and Mount Barker on the Muirs Highway.”
The Chalk Hill Series is a set of three novels loosely based around the three Honeychurch brothers, Jake, Abe and Brix.
“Water Under The Bridge told the story of Jake and Ella. Ella is an ex-almost-Olympic swimmer who hasn’t been back in a swimming pool since she missed the Beijing Olympic team. In that first book we do meet Abe—the youngest of the Honeychurch boys—but he’s very much a secondary character. Now in The Café By The Bridge, Abe gets his own story.”
Johns’ 2016 release, The Patterson Girls, was named General Fiction Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards.
Lost Without You tells the story of four women, one dress, and the secret that binds them.
Books in Bars will be held at The Fire Station on Thursday, January 17 from 6.30pm.
The event is free but bookings are recommended.
Bookings can be made by calling 9754 4410.
