Anglers from throughout the region are invited to enter the Naturaliste Game and Sportfishing Club’s biggest annual event – the Bluewater Classic.
The classic will be held on Saturday, February 9, and Sunday, February 10.
The event is open to boat and land-based fishers.
Bluewater Classic committee member Barry Conway encouraged all skill levels to get involved.
“This is a really family-based club with a strong focus on juniors and sub-juniors,” he said.
“It would be great to see people come along, have a go, get out and about and be active.”
The competition boasts more than $12,000 in prizes.
The heaviest dhufish from a boat angler and the largest tailor from a land-based angler will earn a $1000 pay day. Door prizes include a six night fishing safari with Montebello Island Safaris.
A nomination and briefing night will be held at the Geographe Bay Yacht Club on February 8, from 5pm with the briefing starting at 6.30pm. It is compulsory one member of each team attends, and only cash or cheque will be accepted.
Entry forms are available from Geographe Camping and Tackleworld, Dunsborough Outdoor Sportz, 2 Oceans Tackle and BCF.
The presentation will be held on Sunday at 5pm at the yacht club. For further information, contact Barry Conway on 0417 917 763, Graham Morris on 0439 938 140 or Jason Albrey on 0409 511 524.
