Fancy yourself an undiscovered Picasso or do your art skills peak at stick figures?
Well, it doesn't matter. Dunsborough Art Society is calling on community members to have a go, pick up a paintbrush and contribute to seaside murals at the Dunsborough Arts Festival over the March long weekend.
Experienced artists from the society will be on hand to assist people in adding their own touch to beach murals at free workshops on the main Dunsborough foreshore.
Artist Mary Atkinson said no experience was necessary.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun, and we urge people to have a go. People may be surprised at what they can do on canvas,” she said.
The free mural workshops will be held between 10am and 11.30 am and between 2pm and 3pm on both the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.
All materials will be provided.
The Dunsborough Arts Society also will have a stall with artworks for sale at the Festival Arts Market on the foreshore on Sunday, March 3 between 8.30 am and 3pm.
More paintings will be exhibited and for sale on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday between 9am and 3pm at the society’s art room at the old Dunsborough Hall, on the corner of Gifford and Gibney streets.
Ms Atkinson there would be art demonstrations at various times during the open days at our rooms during the festival.
“We have around 70 diverse and dynamic local amateur artists as members, aged between 20 and 90," she said.
"They will be displaying about 160 works on the foreshore and at our rooms during the festival, including work by a leatherwork artist."
The Dunsborough Arts Festival is an annual event on the March long weekend, organised by the Dunsborough Progress Association.
