Making the news 10 years ago, the state government outlined its proposal for the redevelopment of the Busselton Foreshore.
It was announced former shire councillor Helen Shervington would lead the Busselton Foreshore Steering Committee.
Also making headlines, Busselton Underwater Observatory tour guide Elyse Frankcom and her colleagues gathered outside the Interpretive Centre and found out a shark had made its way into the shallow waters by the jetty. Elyse managed to whip out the camera and take some snaps. Having dived and snorkelled since she was 12, she had never encountered a shark while in the water and never expected one to show up so close to her feet.
In Sport, junior water polo was fast and furious when both under-13 games finished up with only one goal difference. Dolpins (Blue) defeated Sharks (White) 8-7. Belle Armstrong, TJ Coombes and Darcy McAullife were standouts for Sharks while Elisha Saltarini, Eleanor Somma and Sophie Offer were best for Dolphins.
