Breast Cancer Network Australia ambrose golf day in Busselton

Breast cancer survivor and owner of Papillon Lingerie, Cecilia McCarron, said she had been overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses. 

“The big-heartedness we are seeing from our business community is testament to the devastating impact breast cancer continues to have on families in the South West,” she said.

“Thanks to these businesses we have an incredible list of prizes and donated goods and services, which means we can deliver a truly fun day out, and most important, achieve meaningful outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.”

Ms McCarron was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 after a routine mammogram.

After undergoing surgeries and chemotherapy she wanted to be able to give something back to the community by way of a fundraising event.

Ms McCarron, whose business provides a specialist mobile lingerie/prosthesis fitting service for those that have undergone lifesaving breast cancer surgery, said there were few whose lives have not been touched in some way by the disease.

“I have yet to meet someone in the South West who has not either directly, or indirectly, been affected by breast cancer and the real tragedy is the distance many of these men and women need to travel to receive post-operative care and support,” she said.

“I am hopeful this golf day will contribute to making that process a little easier.”

Tickets for the Breast Cancer Network Australia Ambrose Golf Day are $80 per person and include nine holes of golf, a complimentary drink, entry into cash prize draw,  grazing platters and a sausage sizzle.

Registrations and team selection start at 1.30pm with tee off at 2pm.

Individual nominations will be placed into teams with team nominations also welcome.
