Making the news 10 years ago, a new group was formed to inject community input into the proposed Busselton foreshore redevelopment.
Suggestions that the new Busselton Foreshore Steering Committee was an attempt to manipulate the outcome by him was nonsensical, Vasse MLA Troy Buswell said.
A move was underway for a beachfront cafe to be established in Dunsborough. Cr David Binks introduced a motion for the council to endorse the concept of creating a ground lease on the Dunsborough foreshore for the purpose of a cafe/restaurant. Shire staff supported the concept. Then CEO Andrew Macnish said the motion gave weight to what had only been talked about for years. Cr Binks said the concept of a cafe on the Dunsborough foreshore had been identified as desirable through a survey conducted by the Dunsborough Foreshore Working Group.
In Sport, former West Coast Eagles player now coach, Michael Braun, was full of praise for five local lads who had been selected to play for the East Perth colts this season. Aidan Fraser, Joe Budiselik, Jacob Conti, Jacob Derickx and Vaughan Colyer relocated to pursue their dreams of football stardom – and according to Braun, they were a talented bunch.
