Busselton Bowling Club is set to welcome more than 300 police officers from Australasia when it hosts the 61st Australian Police Bowling Championship next month.
Retired and active police officers from Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia will be participating in the annual event.
In addition to this, 50 delegates from Hong Kong will be in attendance.
It is the second time Busselton Bowling Club has been selected to host the competition, which travels to a different state each year.
WA Police Bowling Club president Rob Bellis visited Busselton last week to meet with the club.
He said he was thrilled to see the championship return to WA and Busselton in particular.
"Every five years it makes it to WA, we offered it to Busselton again and they accepted," he said.
"We are very happy to be here and have it held here.
"Busselton Bowling Club is a brilliant location with one of the best greens in the state, it has great facilities, members and volunteers."
Being awarded the championship is another feather in the cap of the club, which received Bowls WA's Jim Murray Award for the most outstanding country club in the state in 2018.
The club is well-respected in the bowls community and known for being one of the only remaining clubs with a grass green.
During the championship, Busselton players have the opportunity to go for a roll when they take on the Hong Kong delegation.
The club's volunteers will spring into action and provide meals, along with morning and afternoon teas, cocktail evenings and BBQ breakfasts for the visitors and spectators.
The community is encouraged to attend and support the event.
The festivities will begin with a charity event on Wednesday, April 3.
State teams, sponsors and local bowlers will battle it out and raffles will be held from 1.30pm.
All money raised will go to WA Police Legacy.
The championship officially gets started on April 4 and concludes on April 11.
