An Advance Care Planning workshop will be held this April following the success of previous events in 2018.
The events were originally sparked by community interest in a Busselton research project on end of life planning.
Advance care directives allow patients to write down their wishes for their future health care, end of life, living arrangements and personal matters.
The session will again be hosted by Busselton Hospice Care Inc and project researchers, The Rural Clinical School of WA Busselton's lead medical coordinator Sarah Moore and University of WA doctor of medicine student Anna Kelly, who will be returning to Busselton for the event.
Dr Moore said the session aimed to start the conversation among families about end of life and care plans.
"We had such positive feedback and a lot of interest last time, so much so that we had to hold a follow up event in August," she said.
"The workshop is about raising awareness about someone's options, it is an opportunity to start those conversations or practise having those conversations with loved ones which is really valuable."
The event will coincide National Advance Care Planning Week, which is in its second year.
The Advance Care Planning workshop will be held at Geographe Bay Centre on Thursday, April 4 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
