Busselton Surf Life Saving Club have returned home with a swag of medals for their efforts at the recent Sunsmart Surf Life Saving Country Championships.
The club took on clubs from throughout the state at Sorrento Beach.
Busselton finished second in the handicap competition and the club amassed a total of 27 medals across the age groups.
The morning started with Spencer Drummond, (under 12), Lachlan Murray and Lucy Hill (under 17s) medalling in the one kilometre and two kilometre beach run respectively.
Busselton then dominated the water arena.
Lachlan Murray took out silver in the under 17 surf race, ski race and Ironman as well as gold in the board race.
Fellow team mate Angus Johnston-Walker took home gold in the under 17 surf race, gold in the under 17 Ironman as well as silver in the under 17 board race and open surf race.
Lucy Hill added to the medal tally with silver in the under 17 board race and open Ironman plus gold in the under 17 ski race.
The medals kept coming with bronze to Maddison Johnston-Walker in the open surf race and bronze to Eden McDonald in the under 17 Ironman and under 17 ski, plus gold in the under 17 surf race.
The relay teams showed the depth of the club with gold to Angus Johnston-Walker, Lachlan Murray and Lucy Hill in the mixed board and taplin relays, silver to Maddison Johnston-Walker, Eden McDonald and Lucy Hill in the board relay and bronze to Mitch Rabjones, Angus Johnston-Walker and Lachlan Murray in the open board relay.
New to competition, Nate Jarnicki and David Miles competed at their first Country Championships this year and were well placed in all their events.
Further down the beach the juniors were representing their club proudly, most for the first time, both in the water and on the beach.
Max Gray took home a bronze medal finishing third in the under 10 Surf Race and Mason Thomas, gold in the under 12 beach flags.
Both Lachlan Murray and Ella Griffin finished third in the beach flags to add to the final tally.
Club spokeperson Helen Rabjones said it was a fun weekend for all those who participated.
"The results were reward for hard work in training throughout the season," she said.
"With so many up-and-coming juniors, it is an exciting time for the club."
