Stepping up a weight division, Busselton's Ice Queen Kylie Hutt will step into the ring to fight for her third state title belt.
Hutt will take on on Perth's Cyla Maguire in the women's middle weight division, after taking a year off boxing.
Training with her coaches John Hinsey and Crandon Keddie at Denning Boxing and Fitness Gym in Bunbury, Hutt has been working hard to improve her style.
Her competitor, Maguire, has competed in one professional fight, knocking out her opponent Preeya Intaraklan in 2017.
"I have stepped up a weight class to get a fight, it will be interesting to see how we go," Hutt said.
"I feel like she will be a challenging opponent, but I am amped and cannot wait to get in the ring and give it a crack."
The bout will take place at Metro City in Perth on Friday, May 17 as part of the Thunderdome series, with Hutt saying she will wear a white ribbon to stand up for violence against women.
"I want to show them they are not alone and empower them," she said.
After a year off, Hutt said it had been incredible and hard to get back into training but her coaches had been prepping her to make sure she is ready for the ring.
"Now that I have a goal to aim for I have a direct line of vision, I am focussed, dedicated and feeling really strong and confident," she said.
"You need to have a strong mind frame and be mentally and physically ready."
To prepare Hutt has been working on her fitness by focussing on her technique, cardio workouts, strength and conditioning.
"I am coming back stronger and better but different, it is a different fighting style and I have definitely made huge improvements," she said.
"Going up a weight division you feel a bit more sluggish and slower, but you work on that to build up speed to create balance."
Hutt is looking for a sponsor to help her with training costs if anyone is able to assist they should get in touch with her by contacting Denning Boxing and Fitness Gym on 0406 020 756.
Signed t-shirts are also available to support Busselton's Ice Queen which can also be arranged through the gym or through Mandy on 0407 282 809.
