Local soccer followers will be heading to Hay Park on Anzac Day to witness the finals of the South West Soccer Association's Pioneer Cup competition.
This year the Pioneer Cup has been successfully conducted as a pre-season competition.
On Thursday, Association life member Ron Moss and Bunbury MLA Don Punch will be the guests of honour in what promises to be two very even encounters.
It will also be an opportunity for the code to showcase the completed floodlighting upgrade project at the Hay Park South precinct.
In the men's final neighbours Busselton City and Dunsborough Town will clash with the latter starting as favourites.
Dunsborough has returned to the Premier League for 2019 and have embarked on a considerable recruitment drive under new coach Jack Eades.
Despite surprisingly being defeated by Hay Park United on the opening game of the season, Dunsborough looked the goods when they defeated Australind 4-1 in their last game.
Whilst Busselton City will include a number of promising young players in their squad, their fortunes will certainly be dependent on the efforts of experienced midfielders Rich Amey and Mathis Wieler.
Hay Park United ladies side are currently unbeaten and will be looking to add the Pioneer Cup to their trophy cabinet.
However their opponents, Margaret River are a rapidly improving side and are very capable of upsetting their more experienced rivals.
Much of Hay Park's strength comes from midfielder Hayley Castrilli and Margaret River will need to counter her clever distribution and goal scoring skills.
Both sides met prior to Easter with a 1-1 draw eventuating and Thursday's game promises to be another free-flowing and entertaining game.
The games will commence at 12.30pm.
National Premier League game in Busselton
Top quality soccer will be on display in Busselton this Saturday, April 27 when they host the National Premier League clash between Perth Glory and Sorrento.
Glory have started the season well under new coach former Socceroo Richard Garcia and they are looking to go one better in 2019 after finishing runners-up last season.
Their line-up is likely to include young Socceroos Callum Timmins and Nick Walsh, as well as dangerous striker Luke Salmon.
Perth Glory A-League coach Tony Popovic might also be an interested spectator as his two sons, Kristian and Gabriel, are regular members of the club's NPL squad.
Sorrento has been one of the better performed sides in the league in recent years, under the tutelage of Glory legend, Jamie Harnwell.
Led by experienced defender Shaun Kilkenny, Sorrento will be looking to strikers Jordan Roberts and Cameron Teece to unlock the Glory defence.
Currently both sides sit in equal third position and are dangerous going forward and aggressive in their approach to regaining possession.
It will be most interesting to see how quickly both teams come to grips with conditions of the picturesque Barnard Park pitch.
The National Premier League game will kick-off at 3pm with two games between the Leeuwin Naturaliste and Country Coastal junior associations taking place at 11am and 1pm.
Perth Glory will also hold an open training session at Barnard Park at 4pm on Friday, April 26 which will coincide with a free workshop for coaches, who will have access to Garcia and Football West Leeuwin Naturaliste development officer Juan Propato.
