The most recent Mountain Bike Event to hit the WA shores was the WA Gravity Enduro Round in Balingup.
The best riders across the state made their way to the Linga Longa Bike Park on Sunday, April 28, to participate in the latest state round, which also provides a pathway for riders to access the Enduro World Series.
The EWS is the forum for the world's best to participate in a global competition, and Busselton rider, Jayden Fraser (17) took home the Junior Men's category by a strong 24 second lead.
Dunsborough rider Harry Ainsworth found his way to the podium also, in third place.
Fraser is currently in Year 12 at Cornerstone Christian College, and hopes to utilise his gap year to participate in Enduro at an international level.
With the win on Sunday, he puts himself in the box seat to step into the global competition.
In the juniors (under 13s), which is a separate event to the EWS event, Dunsborough local Angus Nichols took out first place, with Josh Moore stepping up to second position.
The junior riders (Whippets) from the Capes region are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in WA, and the On Track Racing Team (based in Busselton) is gaining a reputation of holding a hotbed of future champions.
The overall winner of the day was current World Champion, Sam Hill, who led a star studded cast of National and International riders, highlighting the skill on offer in the South West riders.
