The Margaret River Chocolate Company is celebrating its 20th Birthday this month and is hosting a family friendly day with an abundance of food and activities at its original Metricup factory.
The event will be held on Sunday, May 19 between 11am and 2pm, to recognise the longstanding support of the local community.
In addition to lots of birthday giveaways the company has involved The Margaret River Independent School, who will be holding a sausage sizzle, and The Natural Learning Centre Margaret River who will be running nature based activities.
All proceeds raised by the groups will go straight towards their associations.
While the children can enjoy some face painting and nature activities, parents can enjoy a performance headed by local musicians Tony Lane and his folk band Crooked Brook.
Entry to the event is free and will be held out on the deck and rear lawns of the factory.
Co-owner Martin Black said it was amazing to think that the company had been part of the local community for 20 years and they wanted to celebrate with the people that supported the business from the start.
"Twenty years ago we started this small business in an old dairy paddock and now it is one of WA's most recognised tourist attractions and a significant draw card for the region." he said.
"We cannot thank the Margaret River and South-West community enough for supporting us for the last 20 years.
"This is a celebration for the community as much as it is for us".
Mr Black said the company was keen for locals to come down and enjoy a family-fun day with amazing music, food and of course some chocolate.
