Bunbury on Saturday night saw the running of the Sky Racing Bunbury Dash For Cash and local trainer Justin Prentice sent out the two short priced favourites in Sweet N Fast and Quick Stride.
Sweet N Fast, driven by young gun Cory Peterson, worked forward early to take up the lead and with a slow lead time and first quarter Sweet N Fast looked mighty hard to run down.
But with 200m to run Quick Stride, driven by champion reinsman Gary Hall Junior, who had settled three back on the fence, suddenly found all the gaps needed and darted along the rails to grab the stablemate in the shadows of the post; recording a two-metre victory.
Also on the program Busselton trainer Barry Howlett took four horses to the track for two thirds and a stable quinella in the trial before the meeting.
Front Row and Heza Head Honcho continued their consistent form of recent times.
Front Row led and, at start 11, looked a little erratic in the run, however was able to hold on to a placing.
Heza Head Honcho settled mid-field from the tough draw and with no match for the Gary Hall Senior up and comer he ran on strongly for an honest third.
Also at the meeting, the Brad Chinnery trained and Lorne Steer driven Summer Moon looked extremely unlucky when held up in traffic for the majority of the final lap.
Summer Moon went to the line with more to give in a close up fifth.
Ohoka Sammy a five-year-old un-raced gelding and My Love Letters, also un-raced, would quinella the trial before the meeting for Barry Howlett.
Finishing third in that trial was the Michele Carmen trained Flaming Cullen who would lead from the outside draw.
All would be worth following in the coming weeks.
Millwood Poly and All The Bells looked very unlucky at Pinjarra.
Both darted home from mid-field to just fail in the concluding stages.
Catastrophic Event put in another tough performance, sitting in the breeze to finish a close up fifth; only being beaten by five metres.
