Pinjarra last Monday was witness to two incredible performances by two very good horses being The Watch Maker and Catastrophic Event.
The Watch Maker trained by Debra Lewis, and driven by now group one winner Jocelyn Young, was sent out a $2.65 second favorite.
From the tricky draw of five, The Watch Maker was always going to find it hard to find a forward spot.
Sent forward anyway, The Watch Maker was caught three wide though out and in the racing game that was simply the worst spot to be the entire race.

But turning for the winner post The Watch Maker continued to defy the odds and went on to hold out favorite Sangue Reale by a head.
Even though Catastrophic Event finished fourth, she was a run to be seen, galloping hopelessly at the start the Busselton pacer was tailed of early and looked no chance of playing a part.
The mare trained by Colin Reeves would not give in without a yelp and urged back into contention by driver Morgan Woodley.
Catastrophic Event would make up an incredible amount of ground to finish fourth and was only beaten by 13 metres.
Not a bad effort considering the 100 metre start she gave them.
Busselton trainer Barry Howlett had many starters over the past week and the consistent mare Purest Silk would again fly the flag high for the stable.
Racing at Gloucester Park on Tuesday night, the mare driven by Aiden De Campo was in a position to strike after settling in the perfect position just off the pace Pure Silk would run down Crystal Sparkles.
Also on the program, My Prayer would run second for driver Chris Lewis and in the same event Millwood Gucci ran well in fourth.
In the first race All The Bells looked unlucky in fourth after being held up.
Sunnys Little Wiz continued to be ultra consistent since returning from a lengthy break, she came from last in a small but handy field to finish second.
Star Of Diamonds also put in a tough effort sitting in the breeze and just going down by a neck.
Cheer The Major finished third behind the brilliant Mathew James and Purest Silk having her second run in the week would finish fourth behind the talented The War Nurse.
The next harness racing meetings take place at Gloucester Park and Narrogin on Friday, May 24, Northam on Saturday, May 25, Pinjarra on Monday, May 27 and Gloucester Park on Tuesday, May 28.
