In a true test for the mighty Dungbeetles, the Bunbury Bulls came out of the gates charging like a bull to a red flag. Bunbury travelling south to Busselton with a full squad and reserves were hungry to beat the Beetles on their hallowed turf of Barnard Park.
The Beetles had a forward pack depleted of key players up front in the engine room, and the going was a tough ordeal against a strong Bunbury forward pack. Bunbury taking full advantage of their forwards momentum, rumbled their way up to the Beetles try line and the Bunbury backs found gaps appearing in a usually rock steady Beetles defensive line. And in turn crossed the Beetles try line twice in a matter of 20 minutes; Bulls 14 - Beetles 0. Dungbeetles with their backs up against the wall, fought hard to score before half-time, but to no avail.
