Local Busselton players recently competed in The Broome Squash Club Invitational Tournament this past May.
The event attracted players from all corners of the state as well as former world number one and Commonwealth games gold medallist Sarah Fitz-Gerald.
A third round matchup between Busselton's number one ranked player Daniel Taylor and Sarah Fitz-Gerald almost seemed destined before Taylor succumbed to an upset loss in the second round of the A grade division.
Taylor would move on to claim two more victories over the weekend to receive the A Grade Consolation Plate, closing the weekend out in the form we have come to know.
With a local appearance by Fitz-Gerald tentatively booked for September a match up with Taylor will still hopefully come to pass.
Busselton players Ryan Callegari and Bec Treasure would compete on opposite sides of the B Grade division draw with Callegari making it all the way to the Final claiming victory in a 5 set classic against Dongara's Jeremey Church.
After a first round loss Treasure would go on with perfect poise to claim 3 straight victories and collect the B Grade Plate.
The Club now turns its focus to the upcoming South West Open in Bunbury on June 22 and 23.
Busselton's best will again look to stake their claim as some of the most competitive players in regional WA.
