The Busselton Foreshore Jetty Precinct received the Park of the Year Award at the Parks and Leisure Australia Regional Awards of Excellence ceremony held in Perth last Thursday.
As the state winner this project will now be considered, among other projects from across the country, at the National Awards which will be announced on October 29.
City of Busselton mayor Grant Henley said the award belonged to the whole community.
"Without the support of local businesses and community members we simply could not have achieved what we have," he said.
"I want to thank City councillors both past and present who have worked hard to realise the Busselton Foreshore Master Plan over the past decade.
"I acknowledge the contribution of both the State and Federal Government and applaud City officers and the many contractors involved in the development for their commitment to quality.
"We hve created something truly special here and we can all feel justifiably proud."
