"Awesome" is how trainer Michele Charman describes the victory of her three-year-old Flaming Cullen at Bunbury on Saturday night.
Resuming from a spell on Monday at Pinjarra the gelding looked unlucky when dragged back through the field by a tiring horse.
But come Saturday night and assisted by a good draw, champion reinsman Chris Lewis wasn't about to let that happen.
Flaming Cullen bred and raced by Michele, Sara and her family looked keen early and caused a false start, but Lewis took advantage there after and led.
Setting a solid pace 'Cookie', as he is affectionately known, was able to hold odds on favourite Roman Art at bay and record his first career win in 1.57.
It was a well deserved win for the family.
Cheer The Major also had success on the night for trainer Barry Howlett and driver Aaron Beckett.
Racing the breeze early in the event Beckett was gifted the lead when the leader broke and galloped from the the favourite looked had to beat but got a minor scare when Happy As got within a short half head.
Busselton had many starters on Saturday night.
All The Bells and Millwood Polly for Barry Howlett finished a close up second and third respectively.
Tsar Bomb, now with Kym Neal, would finish fourth first up.
Not a bad effort considering his last five runs he's finished no closer than second last.
And Captain Proud and Budd Sidewinder found their handicaps too difficult to overcome in the stand but weren't far away.
My Prayer is having an amazing season.
Having 10 starts she has recorded four wins and three placings, including Friday's nights win in the Westbred three-year-old Fillies Pace at Gloucester Park.
Unfortunately it wasn't a big field with only four starters, but it was an exciting finish.
Leading early and setting a slow pace My Prayer was challenged late by Don't Look, but the Barry Howlett trained youngster toughed it out to win by a head.
Gold Horseshoe proved his trial form was to follow, scoring a brilliant victory first up when sitting in the breeze and winning by one metre.
Blockjorg nearly made it a double for trainer Colin Reeves when looking home for all money, but was caught late by Fifty Five Reasons.
