Round six of the Onshore Cup was played in pretty atrocious conditions at the Dunsborough Playing Fields, with the Mulies hosting the Boyanup Boars.
Dunsborough got off to a good start, utilising the strong breeze in the second quarter to build a three goal buffer at half time.
Boyanup clawed back in the third quarter, but inaccuracy in front of goal meant they still trailed by two goals at the final change.
While the Mulies were also terrible in front of goal, they proved too strong in the final term, running out winners by 44 points.
As part of Healthway and the WACFL's Check in on a Mate Round, the Mulies were due to host a community barbecue after the game, however due to the terrible weather and the new club rooms not quite being finished, the event was shifted to the Dunsborough Pub.
It was a fantastic initiative and very effective means of generating community awareness surrounding men's mental health and the pathways available for assistance.
Further north, the Vasse Kakkas hosted the Busselton Bombers at Sir Stewart Bovell Oval.
It was a 5pm bounce down which got the game started under lights for the Tristan Docking Memorial game.
The weather conditions were not in favour for either side, with continued heavy rain fall and the blustery winds made attempts at ball skills hard to execute.
The first quarter had the Bombers kicking with the wind, and they had used the most of it with three goals scored, and the Kakkas without a score.
Come the second quarter with the weather conditions showing no signs of easing up, both teams fought hard.
The Kakkas had scored just the one major this quarter, but against the flow the Bombers had added one more goal, going into the half time break.
The third quarter start was hard for both sides as there was a lot of pressure football being played.
Come the last half of the third quarter the Bombers were able to prevail and break through with some scoreboard pressure.
At the end of the third quarter it seemed the Bombers had the game under control.
The last term had the Kakkas kicking with the wind, and only being six goals down there was an opportunity that they could the playing fields level.
It started well with the Kakkas kicking a goal early in the quarter and with a few more chances they could not convert due to the pressure of the back line of the Bombers.
The bombers had answered back with a major of their own, and just proved to strong running out victors.
Final scores Bombers 7-14-56 beating the Kakkas 2-6-18.
