Participants from all over Western Australia enjoyed the 42nd Capel 200 Trail Bike Rally on June 29.
Male and female riders, of different ages and experience levels, headed to the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club's headquarters, near Capel, on Saturday morning.
After coming together for the briefing, all 185 riders took off and rode through the Capel-Jarrahwood State Forest.
This year, organisers set up a new-and-improved 70-kilometre pre-marked course with 4WD tracks, single-track trails, and flowing pine firebreaks.
The trail also included 'enduro' sections and special obstacles for the more experienced entrants.
Riders completed two laps of the track, before returning to base and camping overnight.
Trail bike rider Tim Lawler, who travelled down from Perth for the event, described it as an "unforgettable experience".
"I thought the ride was great - it was well organised and the track was really challenging," he said.
"The track was tight, twisty, and narrow. I hope to give it another go next year.
"The region is really nice, as well."
Capel 200 Trail Bike Rally secretary and organiser Jeremy Connor said the participants spoke highly of this year's event.
"The rally gives them the opportunity to use their trail bikes in an organised, safe environment," he said.
"This time around, the track and the camp grounds weren't too slippery.
"Over the years, we've been looking to create a friendly, easy-going atmosphere.
"The event has certainly had a boost, and is now getting the reputation that it deserves."
St John Ambulance, State Emergency Service, Rotary, catering, and motorcycle club representatives were on-hand throughout the weekend.
The event has the full support of Motorcycling WA, the Department of Conservation, Biodiversity, and Attractions, Yamaha, the Shire of Capel, Healthway, the Forest Products Commission, and WBHO Infrastructure.
"We work very closely with the Shire of Capel, St John Ambulance, SES etc. After each event, we make a donation to a local community organisation," Connor said.
"The shire, Forest Products Commission etc. all see the benefits of the event."
