The children's playground on the Busselton Foreshore Sea Play by the Bay is in the running for the people's choice award at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects WA.
Among the people's choice award is the Koombana Bay Foreshore Redevelopment and the Capel Shire Precinct.
Plan E associate landscape architect Michael Pearce was tasked with designing the play space, he said the City of Busselton had the initial concept to design some of Busselton's maritime history and marine animals.
"They had decided on having a ship and some sea creatures relating to the history of the Busselton Jetty," he said.
"We tweaked that idea to make it a bit more fun and adventurous, so that it would act as an attraction for the city.
"It is awesome, it is a great part of the job to work on these sort of play projects when the clients get adventurous.
"It is good to push the boundaries and see everything be built and people enjoying the play space. It was a real sense of achievement for everybody who worked on it."
