Australian musician Alex Lloyd is preparing to take fans back 20 years when he brings his anniversary tour of Black The Sun to Dunsborough and Bunbury in October.
Lloyd said it has been an incredible experience revisting the album he first released two decades ago and that he has really had to tap into his memories from that time.
"I really liked the guy back then, I like the younger version of me," he said.
"It brings back a lot of memories, it is quite a soothing record, I can be more objective about it now."
Lloyd said he recently went through the album track-by-track.
"There was a song on there Desert, I remember hating that song when I finished it, it took ages to record and was a really tricky song to work out and find the right structure chord," he said.
"Now I love it, I think it is a good track and it brings back a lot of memories.
"It is that thing about space and time and going back, I am happy, it would be awful if I came back to it and I could not stand it."
Lloyd said he hopes the tour will be the highlight of his year and he was really getting into the music all over again.
"I am really looking forward to touring with a full band," he said.
"Apart from playing Black The Sun from start to finish we will also doing Amazing and Coming Home in the second set."
Lloyd will play the Prince of Wales in Bunbury on Thursday October 17 and The Dunsborough Hotel on Friday October 18.
