A field of 145 players from all over Western Australia turned out for the annual Busselton Toyota West Coast Open Golf Tournament over the long weekend.
Three days of strokeplay in perfect weather meant the course was in great condition and the greens hard and fast.
After posting a strong final round score of 1 under par, 71, local Busselton member, Adam Davey, made his way into a 3-way playoff with Rockingham member, Marty Van Eldik and WA Club member, Adam Chemello, all on combined total scores of 224.
A birdie on the first playoff hole clinched the win for Adam, a full 27 years since his last win at the West Coast Open. A special moment with 13 year old son Kai, who also finished 3rd Overall Nett, pulling the bag on the final hole.
Taking out the Overall Nett event with great scores of 70, 73 and 69 was another of our local Busselton members, Carl King, over Boyup Brook member, Michael Wallace, taking second place on scores of 72, 65, 77.
Also proving that some flag positions were easier than others were Michael Dunsmore, Roric Coleman and Brendan Rogers who each achieved a hole in one during the event, taking out a $250 voucher each from local sponsors Geographe Petroleum.
Our sincere thanks to Major Sponsor and local business, Busselton Toyota, for supporting our event again this year and helping us make the weekend a success.
