City of Busselton council candidate Jo Barrett-Lennard said its time to 'champion transparency, integrity and community welfare'.
On her candidate profile, Ms Barrett-Lennard says she has a range of experience including being on the State Council for the Royal Association of Justices of WA, president of the South West JP branch, editor of the "JP Journal", a member of the Law Society of WA, and an academic board member for the University of New England School of Law.
Ms Barrett-Lennard said her background in government incentive programs and employment services would help her focus on local small businesses and community groups.
"With a focus on providing fiscally responsible, timely and efficient services for people outside the immediate Busselton CBD, I take a strong interest in council's operations and achieving balance between our envious lifestyle and development pressures due to population changes and business needs," she said.
Her social media profile shows she wants to provide a better voice for the people of Dunsborough.
"After having spoken to residents and business owners, people are wanting more basketball courts within Dunsborough, people outside of the immediate Busselton area want to be heard and have council actually listen to what they have to say," she said.
Ms Barrett-Lennard said she would like to see a kiosk on the Dunsborough foreshore not a function centre.
"The Dunsborough foreshore is busy, but underutilised. I would also like to see a small café open up in Old Dunsborough above the current ablution and shower block" she said.
