Not many artists could claim Daniel Ricciardo bought a piece of their artwork, but that is just what happened to Margaret River based artist Natalie Briney.
Creative Collide curator Kaye Guthrie Adonis was asked by WA's most successful racing car driver to find a piece of art he could gift to his sister for her birthday.
"I spotted her work in a group exhibition it was so dope, it was great, then Daniel bought the piece for his sister," she said.
"Art has been a passion of mine, working with and finding artists and putting their work in front of people is really what I want to do for artists.
"I am always looking for new and interesting things, when I saw Natalie's work I thought it was brilliant and would just get better.
"To see her at this level is just incredible."
Ms Guthri Adonis has now helped create Ms Briney's first serious solo exhibition titled 'Muses' at Larry Cherubino Wines cellar door in Wilyabrup.
Ms Briney said she was absolutely shocked when Ricciardo bought one of her paintings.
"Kaye rang me and said, hey you don't know me but I have just sold one of your paintings to Daniel Ricciardo," she said.
"It was very exciting and I am feeling excited about the exhibition," she said.

"It is the perfect location among the barrels and cellar door."
The Greek muses for arts and science are the inspiration behind the collection and were all named after the Greek Goddesses.
"I got the idea from my daughter who is very interested in Greek Goddesses and mythology, she suggested using the theme when we were talking about the exhibition," she said.
"It inspired me so much I just kept going, because they are the muses of arts and sciences, they are very romantic."
Ms Briney painted the female Goddesses and an animal to go with her, along with smaller pieces of just the animals.
She used a technique called pointillism to add layers and textures to the pieces along with a music sheet which was used as the base.
"I build up layers with the dots and paint to bring out the texture to make it more three dimensional," she said.
Ms Briney's exhibition Muses runs until Monday October 21 at Larry Cherubino Wines on Caves Road in Wilyabrup.
